Quarantine Baking

I have been baking since April but today was the first day I thought to take pictures and share them, thus shaming people who can’t bake but feel like they have to because everyone else is quarantine baking. That’s how this works, right?

Now it’s time for me to tell you a long meandering story, starting when I was five and I had my first taste of a bitter yet luscious grapefruit, which inspired me…

JUST KIDDING!

Here’s the first cake I made:

Glazed Grapefruit Bundt Cake

I found the recipe on Pinterest, and it’s from a cooking blog called Nourish & Fete.

My second cake:

Lemon Yogurt Cake (I know a lot of you are thinking yogurt, ew, but it makes for a very light and delicious cake.)

This cake comes courtesy of Ina Garten, the Barefoot Contessa herself, via Food Network. I messed around with the recipe a little, like I do, and did half lemon, half lime.

P.S. Both of these cakes called for a powdered sugar glaze on top which I omitted because I am a boring grownup and don’t want icing on my sour citrus cakes.
